Koraput isn't one anonymous origin

Odisha coffee comes from a network of partner farms and smallholder groups across Koraput district, each with its own altitude, shade, varieties and drying setup. Treating them as one bag loses what makes the origin interesting.

Some of the farms

  • Dream Hill — higher-elevation Koraput lot known for clean, sweet honey-processed Arabica.
  • Brown Valley — HSD and honey lots; also the source of a rare wild-foraged civet coffee.
  • Oak Winds — washed Arabica, and experimental lots (SLN 9, natural strawberry-profile).
  • Koraput Organic — certified-organic natural-process Arabica.
  • Panigrahi Foundation, Maa Mangala, Annapurna — smallholder-federation lots, washed and honey S795.

The full partner farm directory lists elevations, varieties and processing per farm.

Why farm-level sourcing matters

  • Traceability — you know exactly where the coffee grew.
  • Accountability — quality feedback reaches the people who can act on it.
  • Story — for your café menu or bag, a named farm beats "Indian Arabica".
