The "energy" from coffee is caffeine blocking adenosine (the molecule that makes you feel tired). How big the hit is depends on dose, not on how "strong" the coffee tastes.

Freshly roasted by Gray Cup, our roasting partner — ships across India.

What actually raises the caffeine dose

  • More Robusta in the blend — roughly double the caffeine of Arabica.
  • More coffee per cup — a stronger brew ratio (1:14 vs 1:17).
  • Brew method — a large filter/French press mug delivers more total caffeine than a single espresso, even though espresso tastes stronger.
  • Roast level barely matters — light and dark roast have nearly identical caffeine by weight.

Sensible limits

Caffeine peaks at 30–60 minutes and has a ~5-hour half-life. Keep under ~400 mg/day and avoid it within 8 hours of bed.

Roasted or green

Roast your own high-Robusta blend from a Koraput Arabica base:

Gray Cup roasts 70/30 Arabica/Robusta blends for a bigger caffeine hit.
